Probably Not A Book...

Okay, so you know how I said I was gonna write a book? Well I prrrobably won't write one anytime soon... unless it's, like, one of those, you know, chapter books for, like, little kids, I guess. I know I added like WAYYYY too many commas to that sentence, but who cares? I don't exactly have a grammar teacher right now. LOL!  - Hollydove

October 26, 2017 Update

Hey guys! Me again! I actually had an amazing day! School was normal, you know the drill. Crazy recesses, regular classes, the usual drama. It's mainly just people doing regular stuff, you know, getting told off once in a while because they're talking out of turn, etc. After school, though, was my robotics team meeting. I do this thing called First Lego League, or FLL, and I'm on team 26070. We're called the Lego Lassies. I have five teammates! They are really cool, too. I was super happy after robotics ended, and that's how my mom knows I like it. She says that she wouldn't take me if I didn't like it. After that, we went home at we all had Padria's takeout for dinner. I love Padria's takeout, too. I put my dishes (well, dish) in the kitchen before I got on here, and now here I am, blogging like a pro!  - Hollydove

October 25, 2017 Update

Hey guys! So today is October 25, and I had a piano lesson! My teacher is great and I got to learn some great things. I have a lot of songs that I'm practicing. Well, not that many, but they're kinda hard. I also had a great time at school today, you know. Like, normal stuff, except the kind of normal stuff that's extremely fun. I won't try to go into the details, but yeah. It was super fun. I hope you guys enjoyed this blog!  - Hollydove

A Book?

Hey guys, it's me again! So, recently I've gotten a lot more reinterested in blogging (is reinterested even a word?) and I kinda want to write a book! I'm not sure what it'll be about, but I think that I'm going to do some sort of diary, maybe, or a fantasy book. Maybe a fantasy diary book. I'm going to try to begin to plan it and I'm originally going to release it on Storybird, you know, see if a public audience likes it. I'm probably also going to upload chapters on here. They'll be out on here a lot quicker than they will be on Storybird, so if anyone's seeing this be sure to check my blog out first!  - Hollydove

New Personal Life Stuff Blog (Hopefully)

So. Here I am again. From now on, I've decided that as soon as I can, I'm going to transfer all of my personal life stuff to another blog,  Harringtons Attack/Team Harrington . This blog was created by my parents and was last updated January 2011, and I'll hopefully be updating soon! Lately, I've been having a great time in school. It's been so amazing! My teacher is awesome and my friends are so  amazing that I've been enjoying this school year a lot so far! I hope everyone else's school years go as well as mine is going so far.  - Hollydove

Hollydove's Dog Blog - Update 1

Image
Hey guys, it's me, Hollydove.  Today I'm posting the first update to Hollydove's Dog Blog, a section of my blog that focuses on my dog Indy! Indy some time ago - forgot when I took this  Indy is my dog. Her birthday is on September 1, and she is 13 years old. She is also the best dog in the world.  Indy is a Shetland Sheepdog. She is blind on one side and I think she might be blind on the other, at least partly. I also think she is going deaf, and she seems to have an issue with her mouth because she isn't chewing her food. :-(. BUT her sense of smell is working perfectly.  She doesn't do much - chases after squirrels, barks at cars and strange bikers, etc.  She is my very amazing dog. #LoveHerSoMuch #IndyRules!

So It's Been Awhile

So it's been awhile since I posted last. But, knowing me, I only really post if I can think of something really INTERESTING to post. And the only really interesting thing is the Wings of Fire book, Darkness of Dragons, coming out in four days! FOUR DAYS!!!! That's really soon! Really... need... book.... Okay, I'm done.

A Story of the Winds

I'm just writing this for no reason... A Story of the Winds By Cate Harrington MANY LONG YEARS AGO, THERE  was a girl named Ela. Ela was orphaned. She was very lonely in the orphanage that she lived in. Her hair was golden-blonde with blue eyes, and she had long scars down her back with small white stubs that she always kept hidden. Her favorite thing to do was to stand on the roof of the orphanage and let the wind guide her body.  Ela was no doubt the most beautiful girl in the orphanage, but the other girls gossiped about her. Sure, they might have prettier dresses and nicer hair, but their insides were ugly. Ela could sense this. She called it her sixth sense .  "Ugh, look at that Ela girl! She's so ugly."  Ela could hear their hushed  supposed to be quiet whispers. I am Elanor. I am beautiful, both inside and out. They look better than me. But they are ugly inside.  "Hello, girls," Ela called out. "Priya. Nitashka."  Priya wa

Along the Oregon Trail: The Journal of Liza Jane Sheppard

THE EVENTS CONTAINED WITHIN THE FOLLOWING POST ARE ALL REALISTIC FICTION AND ARE ONLY BASED OFF OF REAL LIFE. THANK YOU. May 1, 1849 Dear Journal,     We're all set to go on the Oregon Trail, but we ar e very worried. We know that we only came to Independence, Missouri to leave, but David's having second thoughts. But of course he has to go, we don't need to lose a second member of the family. We are all feeling very nervous and scared. Oh well. This is our only hope. We are going to get away from the diseases, such as smallpox, which killed my 3-year-old daughter Pearl. Unfortunately, we are gonna be leavin' behind our friends and family and the resting place of poor Pearl. Ain't it so sad? I feel myself tearing up at this very moment. I am expecting many dangers on our journey. We have heard many tales about snakes and Indians. However, I am very excited to see what it looks like over in Oregon. People say that it looks absolutely gorgeous over there. But

Update

Hey guys! It's Hollydove here. I am the person who runs this blog, after all! Muahahaa!!! So, enough about that. I knew this blog is called a story blog, but really the stories are just amazing news & stuff! So I don't really care what I post here. Stories in the comments are perfectly fine, as long as they have minor blood, violence, language, etc. AND they do not put down ANYONE. Thank you! - Hollydove

Hey. Sorry about ANOTHER inactivity post. It's just, I only post if there's something interesting to post about. Sorry about that. Anyways, I guess I have one new thing for you... warning, it's REALLY catchy.

How to make a Nether Portal and an End Portal

Image
To make a Nether Portal, you first need to gather at least  10 blocks of obsidian. Obsidian is created when you pour water over a pool of lava, and the most efficient way to harvest it is using a diamond pickaxe. Then you need to make a rectangle. Nether Portals are always 4x5 at the minimum, but can be 23x23 at the maximum. A good way to save time and resources, as well as durability on your pickaxe, is not using the corners. A Nether Portal will  work without the corner blocks. Finally, to light your Nether Portal, use a source of fire such as a fire charge or a flint and steel to light your portal. If you have built it correctly, swirling purple portal blocks will appear inside the frame, as well as purple particles being drawn into those portal blocks. A partner Nether Portal will generate in the Nether when you build a Nether Portal in the Overworld, and a partner Nether Portal will generate in the Overworld if you do the reverse.  In Pocket Edition, there is no Nether before Upd

How to enter 'Creeper Vision'

To enter 'Creeper Vision,' you need to first enter Spectator Mode. On the PC/Mac, you can type in the command /gamemode sp , /gamemode 3 , or /gamemode spectator . You can also access Spectator Mode by dying in a Hardcore world. Once in Spectator Mode, you can fly around and through any block, although you cannot affect the world in any way. When you focus on any mob except  the Ender Dragon, the white plus in the middle of your screen will appear. Left-click and you will enter that mob's vision. The most interesting vision is that of a creeper's, which is green and pixelated, although it does stand still for long periods of time, making this kind of boring. In the Mo' Creatures mod, a fun creature to 'enter' is the bird. I hope this showcase helped you figure out how to 'enter' mobs yourself.       - Hollydove

Pamuya's Story

Image
I watch. The trees are swaying, the leaves dappling the ground with strange, beautiful patterns made by sunlight. I can hear the birds chirping and I feel the dirt beneath my feet. My name is Pamuya, and my name means ‘water moon.’ I am sixteen years old, and the eldest daughter. My father is a brilliant hunter, and his name is Qelataqa. I also have two siblings, a brother and a sister. My brother, Chogan, is a hunter like Father, and my younger sister Siha is gatherer and weaver. I am the cook of our clan, and also a weaver, and I am very responsible. I try to keep myself calm and be a sensible person to keep us safe. My clan, the Clan of the Eagle, has lived here in peace for many years, and our main concern is to survive. The 20th Day of the 3rd Winter Cycle Today I walked into the forest to collect shells to make myself a necklace, when I saw a deer leap through the forest. I watched as it leaped through the trees, and I was content to watch that beautiful deer. The sight and

Word of the Day: Onomatopoeia

Today's word of the day is onomatopoeia . Onomatopoeia is a noun that means the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named , or simply, sound words  such as sizzle  or cuckoo . It comes from Greek onama , onamat-  (name) and -poios (making). -Poios  comes from the Greek word poiein  (to make) and developed into Greek onomatopoiia  (word-making) and in the late 16th century developed into late Latin onomatopoeia , the word we use today. All information was gathered using Google.
